A Delhi court will make a critical decision on February 20 regarding a criminal defamation case filed by AAP leader Satyendra Jain against BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj. The case revolves around alleged defamatory statements made by Swaraj in a televised interview.
According to Jain, Swaraj falsely claimed that authorities recovered Rs 3 crore, 1.8 kilograms of gold, and 133 gold coins from his residence, statements which were broadcast to millions and intended to tarnish his reputation.
Jain asserts that these allegations were made to wrongfully portray him as corrupt and fraudulent, thereby giving Swaraj unwarranted political leverage. The court’s decision is now keenly awaited to see if it will proceed with the case.
