Judicial Appointments: Eight Elevated to High Courts Across India

Eight legal professionals, including six advocates and two judicial officers, have been appointed as judges in various high courts across India. This move saw new judges in the Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gauhati, and Calcutta high courts, according to the law ministry's announcement.

In a significant development within the judicial system, six advocates and two judicial officers were elevated to the position of judges in seven different high courts on Thursday.

The law ministry's statement detailed that two advocates joined the Punjab and Haryana High Court as additional judges, while one advocate each assumed the role of judge in the Delhi, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka high courts.

Furthermore, each judicial officer was promoted to judge status in the Gauhati and Calcutta high courts, marking a notable restructuring within these judicial ecosystems.
