AIMPLB's Stand Against the Waqf Amendment Bill: A Call for Justice

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has expressed serious concerns over the Joint Committee on Waqf (Amendment) Bill, recently presented in the Lok Sabha. The board alleges that the committee overlooked the perspectives of Indian Muslims, advancing an 'arbitrary undemocratic process.'

AIMPLB President Khalid Saifullah Rahmani emphasized the nation's foundational values of diversity and constitutional rights, which the proposed bill allegedly threatens. He accused the government of spreading misinformation on Waqf issues and vowed to mobilize support against the bill while respecting constitutional frameworks.

AIMPLB leaders have sought support from political figures and warned of a potential political backlash if the bill proceeds. They also criticized the government's push for a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand as biased, stating they would contest it legally and socially.
