The Supreme Court has granted anticipatory bail to Telugu actor Mohan Babu in connection with an alleged assault on a journalist, overriding a previous Telangana High Court decision.

A bench comprising Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and Ahsanuddin Amanullah directed Babu to fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation into the case. The apex court had already provided interim protection to Babu on January 9.

The controversy unfolded after Babu's alleged aggression towards journalists on December 10, 2024, at his home, amid a public dispute with his son Manoj over property and family matters.
