Punjab Police Busts Major Cross-Border Drug Racket

The Punjab Police have dismantled a major cross-border drug smuggling operation, arresting one individual and seizing 30 kg of heroin. The operation, involving drones to transport drugs from Pakistan, marks the largest heroin seizure in Punjab this year.

The Punjab Police announced on Friday that they have successfully dismantled a significant cross-border narcotics smuggling operation. One smuggler was arrested, and 30 kilogrammes of heroin were seized in what officials are calling the largest heroin capture of the year so far.

An intelligence-driven operation by the Amritsar Rural police led to the apprehension of a drug smuggler and the confiscation of 30 kilogrammes of heroin and a car. According to the state's Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, drones were utilized to bring the drugs over from Pakistan.

An FIR has been filed under the NDPS Act at the Gharinda police station as further investigations continue to identify additional suspects and trace the intricate web of this smuggling network.
