In response to the rising cyber offences, Maharashtra's Minister of State for Home (Urban), Yogesh Kadam, emphasized the urgent need to curb these crimes and improve recovery rates for victims. Speaking on Friday, Kadam revealed that of the Rs 50 crore lost to cyber crimes in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, only Rs 5 crore has been recouped for disbursal.
Kadam highlighted the state's commitment to tackling cyber crimes, citing the introduction of new technology to bolster the fight. 'Failure to promptly report cyber crimes hampers recovery efforts,' he noted, underlining the need for timely action to counteract their proliferation.
Additionally, Kadam addressed concerns about the drug menace, affirming the government's resolve to combat this issue with strict police enforcement. In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar alone, 134 drug-related cases have been recorded.
