Maharashtra Cabinet Greenlights Major Infrastructure and Energy Projects

The Maharashtra cabinet approved numerous initiatives including the creation of 346 Anti-Narcotics Task Force posts, Rs 1,275 crore for the Varkhede Londhe Barrage Project, establishment of the Sixth State Finance Commission, and a Rs 1,594 crore solar energy project for the Mhaisal Lift Irrigation Scheme.

The Maharashtra cabinet has taken significant steps to bolster various sectors, approving new projects across the state. One of the key decisions includes establishing 346 positions within the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) to strengthen law enforcement against narcotics proliferation.

Further supporting infrastructure initiatives, the cabinet sanctioned Rs 1,275 crore for the Varkhede Londhe Barrage Project, aiming to enhance irrigation facilities over a substantial land area. In addition, the establishment of the Sixth State Finance Commission will focus on future financial planning with a report due by December 2025.

The cabinet also approved a Rs 1,594 crore project to improve the Mhaisal Lift Irrigation Scheme with solar energy enhancements, intending to meet the scheme's electricity requirements sustainably while reducing operational costs.
