Indore authorities detained two minor boys on Friday, accused of illegally selling electronic cigarettes, contraband under Indian law. This incident highlights ongoing challenges in enforcing e-cigarette prohibitions.
The boys, both 16, were intercepted at Loha Mandi Bridge after police received an anonymous tip-off. A search revealed they were in possession of eight e-cigarettes.
Under questioning, the minors disclosed that they had acquired the e-cigarettes from a 'paan' shop owned by Aman Nawaz. Officials have registered a case under the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act, 2019, and are currently searching for Nawaz.
