Nashik Civic Body's Anti-Encroachment Drive Faces Mixed Reactions

In a decisive move to clear unauthorized constructions, Nashik's civic body removed several structures near the Pir Baba dargah in Kathe Galli, according to officials from the Nashik Municipal Corporation.

Additional municipal commissioner Smita Zagade and deputy commissioner of police Kirankumar Chavan oversaw the operation, ensuring law enforcement facilitated a peaceful drive. Despite the dargah's proximity, operations proceeded without disturbance.

While community leaders praised the efforts, some residents and Hindu groups demand further action against the dargah, claiming it is unauthorized. In response, Nashik Central MLA Devyani Pharande emphasized the need for law amendments to curb unauthorized constructions.
