A Delhi court has declined to recognize a chargesheet filed against former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA, Rituraj Govind Jha, who was accused of defying police orders during a protest in March 2024.

The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Paras Dalal, ruled that even if Jha disobeyed the order, there was no evidence of obstruction, annoyance, or injury caused. The decision was issued on February 21.

During the protest, Jha, along with councilor Ravindra Bhardwaj and AAP workers, was accused of defying orders when they gathered to protest and attempted to burn effigies. The court criticized the Delhi Police for delays in the investigation process.
