UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for concerted global efforts to terminate the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, emphasizing the need for a just and lasting peace in line with international law. His plea comes as the world marks the third anniversary of Russia's invasion.

Addressing the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Guterres urged nations to align their actions with the UN Charter and relevant resolutions to settle this conflict peacefully. He stressed it's imperative to leave no stone unturned in pursuit of peace.

The statements arrive ahead of a pivotal UN General Assembly session in New York, where the United States is lobbying for support of its resolution aimed at ending the war, in contrast to an opposing resolution by Ukraine and its European allies.
