Security forces commenced a comprehensive search operation on Monday at strategic locations near the Line of Control in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, according to police officials.
In response to intelligence regarding suspicious movements, the operations group of the local police, alongside Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) units, executed a joint cordon-off maneuver covering Phamarnar, Kiker Morh, Jabdan Gali, and Harni in Gursai, as well as Brella and Kasbalari in Mendhar and Bafliaz forest in Surankote. The operation remains ongoing, pending further updates from officials.
Heightened anti-terror operations have been rolled out across the Jammu region over the past few weeks, aiming to neutralize terrorists believed to have infiltrated from the border last year. The threats are assumed to be concealed within the dense forests of the higher elevations.
