A Class-12 student's alleged suicide has stirred controversy after he was denied an admit card for board examinations due to unpaid fees. According to police, the incident occurred in Pratapgarh district, Uttar Pradesh, where the student reportedly hung himself from a tree behind his house.
The tragedy unfolded in Akhou Naubasta village, involving Shivam Singh from Sadhuri Shiromani Inter College, Dhansari. Additional Superintendent of Police (West) Sanjay Rai reported that a case has been filed against the school's management based on allegations by Shivam's father. The father claims financial constraints prevented the payment of necessary fees.
As the Uttar Pradesh board exams for Class-10 and Class-12 began, with over 54 lakh students participating, authorities sent Shivam's body for post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, investigations continue under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), attracting significant public and media attention to the role of educational institutions in student welfare.
