Crackdown on Terror Assets: Properties Seized in Kupwara

Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have seized properties linked to two Pakistan-based terrorist handlers, Tahir Ahmad Peer and Mohammad Ramzan Ganie, in Kupwara district. The land, spanning three kanals and 12 marlas, was confiscated following a 2011 investigation and obtained through court orders.

In a significant move against terrorism, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday seized properties worth several lakhs belonging to two suspected terrorist handlers situated in the Kupwara district, officials announced.

The properties, consisting of land measuring three kanals and 12 marlas, were attached following a court directive. They were owned by Tahir Ahmad Peer and Mohammad Ramzan Ganie, both originally from Kupwara but presently based in Pakistan, according to police sources.

The action followed investigations into a case registered in 2011, which identified the land as unlawfully acquired by these absconders, thereby prompting legal proceedings and eventual confiscation.
