The disturbing incident unfolded in the Chief Minister's constituency, triggering widespread condemnation amidst Women's Day celebrations.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Vinod Kumar Sharma, revealed that the victim's husband filed an FIR against the constable, Bhagaram, who allegedly committed the crime in front of the couple's three-year-old son. The horrifying incident took place at a hotel, where Bhagaram misused his authority, further threatening the victim with dire consequences if she spoke out.
The crime has drawn political reactions, with former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot criticizing the BJP government over its handling of law and order. Gehlot called for the immediate dismissal of the accused from service and emphasized the need for a swift and exemplary judicial response to deter similar incidents in the future.
