A newborn baby was discovered lying between train coaches stationed near New Delhi Railway Station, as confirmed by the police on Monday. The body, found covered in blood but showing no external injuries, suggests the infant may have been discarded right after delivery.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) made the grim discovery in the Rajdhani Complex. A police team quickly arrived at the scene, carefully removing the body to send it to Kalavati Hospital, where doctors pronounced the infant dead. The body was then transferred to the LHMC Mortuary for postmortem examination and identification.
Initial investigations imply intentional abandonment to hide the parents' identity. Authorities dispatched a crime team to gather documentation, evidence, and photographs. Police are currently analyzing CCTV footage and collecting further evidence in an effort to apprehend those responsible.
