Rajasthan's Strategic Allocation of Fair Price Shops

Rajasthan's Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Sumit Godara, announced the formation of allocation advisory committees for fair price shops in 406 villages and tehsils, and 99 municipal levels. New committees are set to form in Jaipur, ensuring fair shop allocation under the National Food Security Scheme criteria.

Rajasthan's Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Sumit Godara, addressed the state Assembly on Tuesday, revealing the formation of 406 village and tehsil-level, along with 99 municipal-level, allocation advisory committees for fair price shops.

Godara assured the Assembly that steps are underway to establish similar committees in Jaipur district, responding to Congress MLA Amin Kagzi's inquiries during the Question Hour. The move aligns with efforts to enhance transparency and efficiency in the distribution of fair price shops.

He emphasized that new fair price shops could be instituted for every 500 ration cards or 2,000 units identified under the National Food Security Scheme, pending advisory committee approval. This strategic effort aims to swiftly allocate vacant shops in Kishanpole as a priority.
