Strengthening Bonds: Modi Presents OCI Cards to Mauritius Leaders
During his visit to Mauritius, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards to Mauritian leaders and their spouses. This gesture aimed to strengthen ties between India and Mauritius, with plans to announce new agreements and projects in various sectors during Modi’s stay.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his diplomatic mission to Mauritius, took a significant step to bolster bilateral relations by presenting Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards. The cards were handed over to Mauritian Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam, his wife Veena Ramgoolam, and other Mauritian leaders.
This move came at the onset of a community event with a significant turnout, emphasizing the strong bonds between the two nations. Modi, reaffirming India's commitment, extended OCI privileges to Mauritian nationals of Indian ancestry up to the seventh generation.
The visit is set to culminate with major revelations, including the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and the inauguration of numerous Indian-funded projects, reaffirming a robust partnership and engagement between India and Mauritius.
