Crisis in Balochistan: Train Hijacking Sparks Global Outrage

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has unequivocally condemned a shocking train hijacking incident in Pakistan's Balochistan province, raising alarms over the fate of several hostages taken during the ordeal. Emphasizing the heinous nature of attacks on civilians, Guterres urged for their swift and safe release.

The alarming event unfolded when suspected Baloch gunmen opened fire on a passenger train, the Jaffar Express, carrying nearly 500 passengers on its route from Quetta to Peshawar. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), an organization banned in multiple countries, has claimed responsibility for derailing the train and seizing control, endangering countless lives.

As international concern grows, the Pakistan military has reported intense clashes resulting in the deaths of 16 terrorists and the rescue of 104 hostages. Despite these efforts, the situation remains perilous as the BLA warns of executing hostages if military operations persist.
