Rajasthan's Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) made a significant breakthrough on Wednesday by apprehending an assistant administrative officer in Balotra, securing evidence amounting to Rs 2.29 lakh connected to a corruption case.
The accused, Ashish Ranjan Vishwas, was stationed at the sub-tehsil office in Dudhwa, where he was reportedly involved in collecting bribes from stamp vendors and deed writers, according to ACB Director General Ravi Prakash Meharda.
A tip-off suggesting Vishwas charged a 1% commission on document registrations prompted a surprise inspection, leading to his arrest. Vishwas was unable to justify the amount found with him, and further investigations are in progress, Meharda informed.
