Crackdown in Manipur: Major Arrests and Drug Seizures Highlight Security Challenges

Security forces in Manipur's Tengnoupal district arrested a Myanmar national after seizing 4.4 kg of illicit Yaba tablets from him, reported the police on Thursday.
On Wednesday, 32-year-old Hery, hailing from Tamu, Myanmar, was detained while traveling from Haolenphai to New Shijang village. Authorities confiscated four packets of the banned 'crazy drug', a methamphetamine-caffeine mix.
In the Thoubal district, a KCP (PWG) member was apprehended with firearms including a .303 LMG. More arrests were made in Imphal West district concerning members of banned groups involved in extortion activities, as per police reports.
