Tragedy struck the Delhi Police force as an assistant sub-inspector lost his life in a road accident while on duty. ASI Satyavir Singh, aged 57, was responding to an emergency call on Outer Ring Road near the Burari flyover when a speeding motorcycle hit him early Thursday morning.

The incident unfolded as Singh attended to a scene where a truck had collided with a car and a traffic police personnel. Despite being rushed to Max Hospital, Singh succumbed to his injuries. Affected by this loss, the police department highlighted the risks faced by officers due to rash and negligent driving.

The fatal accident also left the motorcyclist injured. The police are currently tracking the accused. ASI Singh's death marks the second passing of an on-duty officer due to road accidents in recent months, prompting police calls for higher driver accountability.
