In a chilling incident that shocked Moga, Shiv Sena leader Mangat Rai was assassinated on Thursday night, leaving the community on edge. The attack, which also injured a 12-year-old boy, unfolded as Rai was allegedly targeted by three unknown assailants while purchasing groceries.
Despite attempting to escape on a two-wheeler, the attackers pursued and fatally shot Rai, prompting a manhunt. Protesters have since rallied at Pratap Chowk, vehemently demanding justice and condemning the state government for failing to maintain law and order.
Meanwhile, a separate attack targeted a local salon owner, Devender Kumar, adding to the climate of fear. Police are investigating both incidents as the community grapples with a surge in violence.
