Efforts to detain the individual were overruled by a regional court, despite the DSN's call for custody. Authorities discovered the woman had connections to a Russian secret service group, with operations extending to German-speaking countries like Austria.

The disinformation activities spanned both media and public spaces, raising concerns over their impact on social trust. The accused is also linked to Jan Marsalek, a former Wirecard executive wanted for fraud with ties to Russian espionage.
