Unprecedented Drone Assault Shakes Ukraine Amid Power Disruptions
Russia launched a major overnight drone attack on Ukrainian regions Mykolaiv and Kryvyi Rih. Emergency power outages occurred in Mykolaiv, while 15 explosions were reported in Kryvyi Rih, causing damage but no deaths. Ukraine and Russia have agreed to pause attacks, but implementation details remain unclear.
In a significant overnight escalation, Russia launched an extensive drone assault targeting Ukraine's Mykolaiv and Kryvyi Rih regions. Ukrainian officials reported this as the largest drone attack on the city of Mykolaiv during the ongoing conflict.
The strike resulted in emergency power outages across Mykolaiv, though it remains uncertain if these were precautionary or directly caused by the attack. Although fires were ignited and buildings damaged in Kryvyi Rih, miraculously no fatalities occurred, according to the military administration.
Amidst this turmoil, the United States announced separate agreements with Ukraine and Russia to halt hostilities over the Black Sea and against energy infrastructures. Details of when and how these deals will be operational are yet to be clarified.
