Justice Surya Kant of the Supreme Court has issued a stern warning to young lawyers over the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence and copy-paste techniques in drafting legal petitions.
Addressing an event organized by the Supreme Court Advocates On Record Association, Justice Kant highlighted the importance of trusting one's own legal judgment rather than depending on pre-made materials.
He acknowledged the benefits of technology for research and organization but stressed that it cannot substitute the unique human depth and intuition that characterize a skilled advocate. Justice Kant expressed skepticism about AI's ability to fully grasp context and nuances in legal advocacy, urging lawyers to maintain high standards of practice.
