Fugitive Caught After 14-Year Chase: Justice Served

After evading arrest for 14 years, Raj Kumar was apprehended by police for the murder of five family members and the rape of a woman. Originally arrested in 1996, Kumar escaped parole in 2011. He was caught in Meerut under a false identity, living as a daily wage labourer.

Raj Kumar, a fugitive on the run for 14 years, has been arrested by police for committing heinous crimes involving murder and rape. His apprehension marks the end of a long-standing pursuit by law enforcement.

According to officials, Kumar was involved in a brutal attack on a household in the Yamuna Vihar area on July 6, 1996, that led to the death of five family members. Among the victims was a woman who was sexually assaulted before being killed.

In 2011, Kumar absconded after being released on parole, but police recently tracked him down in Meerut where he had assumed a new identity and was working as a daily wage labourer. He is now back in judicial custody, awaiting further proceedings.
