Security Forces Uncover Explosive Cache in Maoist Stronghold

Security forces have successfully uncovered a substantial cache of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in a Maoist-affected village in West Singhbhum district, a senior police representative confirmed on Saturday. The operation resulted in the recovery of 28 IEDs, 23 detonators, and additional explosives, signaling a significant disruption of Maoist activities in the area.

During a meticulously planned combing operation on Friday, a joint security team unearthed these hazardous devices hidden in Jimkiekir village within the Tonto police jurisdiction. The discovery underscores the persistent threat posed by Maoist elements in the region.

A specialized bomb disposal squad promptly neutralized the IEDs, ensuring public safety. Senior Police Superintendent Ashutosh Shekhar reported the seizure of gunpowder and detonators from the site, emphasizing the continued dedication to dismantling Maoist networks and maintaining regional security.
