The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has cracked down on thirteen major e-commerce platforms, issuing notices over the illegal sale of walkie-talkies that lack proper frequency disclosures and licensing. These sales raise security alarms amid existing military tensions between India and Pakistan.

Platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho have been cited for violating the Consumer Protection Act, among other legal statutes. The CCPA's proactive measures have unveiled the alarming scale of the issue with hundreds of such devices listed on each platform.

Chief Commissioner Nidhi Khare disclosed plans to draft new guidelines to address this wide-reaching non-compliance. Sellers are urged to comply with legal standards to maintain consumer rights and prevent future violations.
