Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced on Friday that areas bordering Punjab's Pathankot, Chandigarh, and Jammu and Kashmir are now on high alert due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

Sukhu called for precautionary measures and coordinated efforts by district administrations to ensure public safety, having met with officials and district heads to underscore the importance of vigilance. The chief minister emphasized that while there is no need to panic, safety measures must be strictly followed in line with Union Government directives.

Sukhu expressed solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces, lauding their response to recent provocations, and assured of proactive measures to guarantee the safety of approximately 103 students in Jammu and Kashmir. With tightened security across the state, authorities have urged the public to rely only on verified information and avoid spreading rumors.
