Justice Delivered: Pollachi Sexual Assault Case Culprits Sentenced to Life

The Mahila Court has sentenced nine men to life imprisonment in the Pollachi sexual assault and extortion case. Convicted under rape and conspiracy charges, the culprits face multiple prison terms. A compensation of Rs 85 lakh was ordered for the victims, and electronic evidence was pivotal in the trial.

In a landmark decision, the Mahila Court delivered life imprisonment sentences to nine men involved in the notorious Pollachi sexual assault and extortion case. The verdict, handed down on Tuesday, follows the men's conviction of heinous crimes including gang rape and criminal conspiracy.

The Court decreed hefty sentences ranging from three to ten years in addition to life imprisonment, holding the accused accountable for their atrocities spanning 2016 to 2018. The court mandated a compensation of Rs 85 lakh for the eight female victims.

Initially investigated by local police, the case was later transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation. Witness testimonies and robust electronic evidence led to a decisive conclusion, marking a significant milestone in the pursuit of justice for victims.
