Inter-State Drug Bust: Four Arrested in Jammu Region
Police in the Jammu region apprehended four inter-state drug peddlers, including a juvenile, during a series of successful raids across three districts. In a coordinated anti-drug operation in the Jammu region, four inter-state drug peddlers, including a juvenile, were apprehended by the police on Tuesday. The arrests occurred during targeted raids in Samba, Kathua, and Udhampur districts, leading to the confiscation of significant quantities of narcotics.
In the Ramgarh area of Samba, Amarish Kumar from Bihar was caught with 1.6 kg of ganja. He was intercepted while moving suspiciously near Swankha village, according to a police spokesperson. In another operation, Harpreet Singh and a juvenile from Punjab were nabbed with 51.06 gm of heroin at the Phalote area in Kathua district.
The crackdown extended to Udhampur, where Aqib Ganie from Srinagar was found with 10.51 gm of heroin during vehicle checks at Jakhani. All suspects have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Authorities continue to conduct investigations into the network of drug trafficking activities.
