A grim incident unfolded near the Moradabad-Chandausi railway line as a young couple allegedly took their own lives by jumping in front of a goods train. The tragedy has raised questions about what led to such a drastic decision.
According to police reports, the deceased were from the same village under the jurisdiction of Bilari police station. The 16-year-old girl had recently completed her Class 12 exams, and the 20-year-old male was working in a factory in Moradabad. He had recently returned to his village to stay with his elder brother.
Superintendent of Police (Rural), Akash Singh, disclosed that the couple left their homes at night and were at the railway tracks by 1 am. Bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and investigations are ongoing to understand the motives behind their actions, with family members being questioned.
