In a significant anti-drug operation, the Punjab Police, in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF) and Rajasthan Police, executed a major bust, recovering over 60 kilograms of heroin near the international border in Barmer, Rajasthan.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav announced that nine suspects were apprehended from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Jammu and Kashmir concerning the narcotic haul.

The crackdown dismantled a sophisticated drug cartel operated by Pakistan-based smuggler Tanveer Shah and Canada-based handler Joban Kaler. Investigations are ongoing to trace the full extent of the network's connections.
