An ambush in Manipur's Churachandpur district left four dead on Monday. Among the deceased was a 72-year-old woman, police reported.
The attack unfolded around 2 pm near Mongjang village as the victims traveled in a car. Located approximately five kilometers from Churachandpur town, the site of the ambush was left littered with more than 12 bullet shells.
The United Kuki National Liberation Army claimed responsibility, according to a statement released on Monday evening. In response, police have deployed additional security forces to the area to prevent further incidents.
