In a decisive step to disrupt anti-India activities of the banned Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has confiscated a property belonging to an accused linked to a criminal conspiracy in Tamil Nadu. This move is part of ongoing efforts to curb efforts to establish an Islamic Caliphate in the country.
The property in question, located at no 58H Ashrath Awliya, Manshoor Thaikkal, Thanjavur, was seized under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. Owned by the Hazarat Sams Manssor Peer Avuliya Dargah Trust Board, it was allegedly 'sold' to Bava Bahrudeen without formal registration, according to NIA's statement.
Bava Bahrudeen utilized the property for HuT activities, conducting secret indoctrination classes and radicalization sessions since 2015. Exhibitions showcasing the military might of Islamic nations were also organized at the location. The NIA's action is part of a broader crackdown on HuT's promotion of its ideology, which includes seeking military support from hostile forces to overthrow India's democratically elected government.
