The South Calcutta Law College has taken rigorous action in response to the alleged gang rape of a 24-year-old student, resulting in the termination and expulsion of the accused involved in the case.
The institution's governing body, led by TMC MLA Ashok Kumar Deb, convened to address public outrage following the incident on June 25. Prime accused Monojit Mishra, recently a temporary staff member, was dismissed while students Zaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukherjee were expelled.
Security measures are being strengthened with a revamp of the CCTV system and a stricter campus entry policy. The college seeks to maintain its exam schedule and has implemented a blanket ban on outsider entry to restore a secure academic environment.
