In a heart-wrenching incident from Uttar Pradesh's Deoria district, a 17-year-old girl, Karishma Gupta, lost her life after a dumper collided with her bicycle. The mishap occurred on Thursday afternoon when the Class 10 student was returning from Bahar Singh Inter College.
The tragic accident unfolded on the Gauribazar-Rudrapur road near a central bank branch. An overspeeding dumper rammed into her bicycle, causing fatal injuries and leading to her immediate death, according to Gauribazar Station House Officer Nanda Kumar.
As outrage gripped the community, locals blocked the road in protest. The dumper driver escaped, abandoning the vehicle at Pannahwa. Authorities intervened, cleared the protest, seized the vehicle, and sent the body for post-mortem.
