As India ramps up its efforts to bring back billionaires accused of financial crimes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed the need for close coordination with the UK. This comes following his meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at Chequers.
The extradition of economic offenders, including figures like Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya, and Lalit Modi, has been a pressing issue that India continues to raise with the UK government.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that PM Modi requested UK cooperation to ensure justice is served against these fugitives, who are accused of fraud and financial misconduct involving billions of dollars.
