An Assistant Sub-inspector with the District Police Lines Jammu, Kulbir Kour, was found dead at her home, officials reported Monday. The officer died by an apparent suicide, amidst serious health challenges.

The 52-year-old was discovered hanging in her residence at Lower Gadigarh on Sunday. She was reportedly on an extended medical leave due to persistent health issues.

Authorities believe depression played a significant role in her tragic decision, following initial inquiries. The postmortem has been completed, and Kulbir's family has received her body for final rites.
