The Manipur government has taken a substantial leap into the digital age with the official launch of its e-gazette portal, a move designed to enhance digital governance and facilitate greater public access to government information. This initiative, which was announced on Friday, represents a landmark effort towards achieving a paperless administration.
According to officials, the introduction of the e-gazette portal marks a significant shift in how governmental information will be disseminated. With effect from August 1, the government has ceased all physical printing and the sale of hardcopy editions of the Manipur Gazette, signaling a complete transition to electronic formats.
The directorate of printing and stationary will manage the repository of e-published notifications, ensuring that records are maintained for future reference and available as needed. This change aims to streamline the dissemination process and provide easier public access to important governmental documents.
