Despite the exemption of the pharmaceuticals sector, Keller-Sutter noted that the new duties could harm other sectors within the Swiss economy. "It is a pity that there is a tariff that is much higher than what we negotiated," she told Reuters, emphasizing the potential economic repercussions.
