Illegal Arms Bust: Police Crackdown in West Bengal

Authorities in West Bengal's Nadia district arrested three individuals following the discovery of a country-made pistol and sharp weapons. The suspects were remanded to custody by the Kalyani court. Police are investigating the intent behind the accumulation of these weapons.

In a significant operation, police in Chakdaha, West Bengal, seized a country-made pistol and sharp weapons, leading to the arrest of three individuals, according to a police official on Friday.

The accused were presented before the Kalyani sub-divisional court, where two were placed in five days of police custody, and the third in judicial remand for 14 days.

Additional Superintendent of Ranaghat district police, Siddhartha Dhapola, confirmed the seizure of the pistol, live cartridges, and sharp weapons, and stated that investigations are ongoing regarding the suspects' intentions.
