The Goa police have apprehended 11 individuals following an early morning raid on Puppy's Casino Gold in Candolim, Bardez, revealing illegal gambling activities.
The operation, prompted by Goa Forward Party MLA Vijai Sardesai's remarks on 'illegal live gaming' in on-shore casinos, exposed high-stakes card games exploiting loopholes in state regulations.
During the raid, officers seized equipment valued at Rs 35 lakh. An FIR was subsequently filed under the Goa, Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act, 1976, ensuring legal proceedings against those involved.
