The Himachal Pradesh government announced a significant revision to its compassionate employment policy on Wednesday, aimed at providing timely relief to families of deceased government employees.
The annual income criterion per family has been increased from Rs 2.50 lakh to Rs 3 lakh, a move expected to extend the policy's benefits to more households. Priority will be given to widows, orphans, and dependents of employees who died in service.
Additionally, a one-time relaxation of the 5% appointment ceiling has been approved to ensure deserving candidates are not left out. Formulated in 1990, the policy aims to support families in distress. A Cabinet sub-committee's recommendations led to these changes, reflecting a commitment to social and employee welfare.
