Russia is deepening its cooperation with India to develop a more equitable and sustainable global order, according to Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu. During his discussion with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Shoigu emphasized the need for ongoing collaboration between the two nations.
Doval embarked on his visit to discuss vital energy and defense issues and lay the groundwork for President Vladimir Putin's anticipated visit to India. His visit coincides with U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to increase tariffs on Indian goods due to India's purchase of Russian oil.
The meeting also highlighted the longstanding ties between Russia and India. Both Shoigu and Doval stressed the significance of their strategic partnership, which is characterized by mutual respect and trust. Putin's upcoming visit is expected to further cement this relationship, particularly in the face of ongoing international challenges.
