In a tragic incident that has sparked a massive public uproar, an 8-year-old girl was reportedly raped in a village, leading to protests and damages to police vehicles. The assault happened on Sunday evening when the minor went alone to a field usually visited with her mother.
The accused, identified as Ramlal, allegedly took advantage of the girl's solitude, assaulting her in a nearby bush. Upon her return, the girl informed her family, who quickly sought medical help and reported the crime to the authorities. Police acted swiftly on Monday, arresting the accused.
However, the arrest did not pacify the enraged villagers, who gathered in large numbers, blocked roads, and engaged in stone-pelting, causing damage to a police vehicle. The SP, along with other officers, intervened to restore order. Additional SP Anjna Sukhwal confirmed the arrest and stated that cases have been filed against agitators disrupting public work.
