MOSCOW, Aug 17 (Reuters) - In a bid to reach a historic agreement on peace in Ukraine, President Vladimir Putin addressed the leaders of Belarus and Kazakhstan post-summit with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Putin's discussion with Trump in Alaska, marking the first U.S.-Russian summit in over four years, has been positioned by the Kremlin as a crucial step forward. Putin, post-summit, briefed his top Kremlin officials, highlighting the discussions as timely and highly beneficial, with both leaders focusing on finding a fair resolution to the Ukraine war and addressing its root causes.
The Belarusian and Kazakhstan press services echoed Putin's sentiments, acknowledging a better comprehension of the Russian stance by the United States and the necessity for peaceful strategies to resolve ongoing issues.
