The West Bengal Police have turned the spotlight on Sacchidanand Mishra, an Uttar Pradesh native, who died following injuries from the Madhyamgram blast. Authorities suggest that Mishra was carrying an explosive aimed at harming a woman involved in an extramarital affair with him, or possibly her husband.
The state police's Special Task Force (STF) has interrogated the woman and her spouse to understand the context leading to the incident. Mishra, in a dying confession, acknowledged the affair, further complicating the investigation into whether he intended harm or if the explosion was accidental.
Investigation efforts are focused on whether the low-intensity Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated intentionally or due to technical failure. The explosive went off near Madhyamgram High School, leading to Mishra's death. Witness accounts, forensic reports, and CCTV footage from the vicinity are crucial to unraveling the case.
