The Monsoon session of India's Parliament concluded on Thursday after a month marked by frequent disruptions, adjournments, and walkouts by the opposition. Twelve bills were passed by the Lok Sabha, while the Rajya Sabha approved 15, amid recurring demands for debates on Operation Sindoor and Bihar's Special Intensive Revision exercise.
Legislation passed included The National Sports Governance Bill, The National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill, and several others relating to taxation and shipping. Despite the passage of key bills, discussions were often overshadowed by the opposition's demands, leading to a missed opportunity for broader parliamentary debate.
Government functionaries criticized the opposition's lack of cooperation, lamenting missed discussions on crucial bills. The Rajya Sabha saw most bills passed amidst chaos or only after oppositional walkouts, highlighting persistent legislative gridlock during this session.
